Notes:
Emerge from the helipad end of operations building and there's no tree beside building
set still has mould on it!
Doors have been removed. I wonder if they were kept by someone in production
Because roof curves up from front windows we can see large glass windows above the concrete wall the Mural was painted on.
They turn left when entering and head to window on unused end of lobby. I'd always thought they were at the end of the building looking out at the hill beside the building. But it's the lobby wall thier looking through. This is where nick stood shining light off into space after looking at Mural. Note Comms room glass wall and door still in place behind them. So we still don't see the unused area of the building.
Room is still full of vines.
Giant tumbleweeds litter the lobby.
Mouldy blinds over windows
Hallway runs full length of operations building. There's a room and a door between Comms centre and rear helipad door
Centre wall where mural was is curved
Rear hallway has floor to ceiling windows running along it also. Would be stunning during its operation. Barred windows on roof? Same bars seen earlier above lobby.
There's a walkway leaving building and going up a hill. Fire escape? Path to another structure? Note no perimeter fence.
Season 4 Episode 15 “Net Worth”

00:09:19 Geothermal plant run through to external of Kiln Shed. 00:09:31 Cut to group entering hole in rear of boarding house lower floor. scene ends 0:11:14.
Notes:
rusty pipes leading out to bone yard. Ribs still there at end of pipes!
Perimeter fence still has a couple of wires strung.
Concrete barrier still in place.
Kiln shed looks better in daylight as do all the sets
Several pipes run into side of shed, steam delivery to turbine?
Added debris laying around but suits the time of tlw. Barrels roof iron etc.
Roof section behind kiln shed. Explains raptors and Sarah falling onto roof and not ground?
Interior of boarding house, standard set stuff but filled with drums etc. room looks small so maybe lower level was split up into separate rooms to hold up second floor? Different to front wall we see later.
Looking through hole in wall behind them you can see uprights and a roof section the same hight as the room that abridges the kiln shed and boarding house. It seems to extend past the kiln shed to the end of the boarding house. So what if the raptor fell through that roof, that explains the debris and the light beside it. That came from the roof the raptor fell through.

They seem to be running from operations building stairs and not boarding house as it was seen in last scene.
We get exterior shots of boarding house and Kiln shed in all thier glory. We also get one green crate with the InGen logo on it.
Notice boards over the window Sarah rolled through in small structure joining the two large buildings.

Season 4 Episode 12 “The Dying Fields
Original air date 31st August 1998
00:05:00 - 00:08:10 cast walks onto set in front of gas station walking towards kiln shed. One sets off a automatic target and they turn the wrong way to look at it in front of kiln shed. We then get a hummer drive into village through gates. Tracking shot past power plant. Cast hides on boarding house Varandah. We then move inside bottom level.
Notes:
-a lot of crates blocking gas station view.
-trampled satellite dish leaning up against a large crate.
-small gravel spread to his asphalt road surface.
-hummer driving through the gates! That's how big they are.
-fence still has wires strung
-cuts to inside car and we start out in the boneyard and follow pipes inside and to plant.
-as soon as pipes come through fence they turn left and go over to a large cylinder shaped structure, then down into the ground.
-as they get to the kiln shed if you look past the debris you can see a small roof coming off the kiln shed out towards the first of the large round towers. Maybe that's what the dying raptor fell on?
-as car leaves we get a good look at wall of boarding house. Mould and rotten wood still there.
-cast sneaks along boarding house verandah towards the rear wall where there must be another door.
-cut inside, simple set and a open space. I love the decaying blinds on the windows. Also interesting seeing the gaps in the weatherboards on the walls. A lot of lights coming in.
00:38:26 - 00:42:47 Cast emerge from rear entrance on second floor of boarding house and run down the stairs. They turn and run back past kiln shed and hide bedding a very large corrugated pipe in plant area. Cuts to cast member walking up Main Street, heros duck and weave between pipes and fence. We get a shot of light pope on blazer in background.
A fire fight breaks out, main cast run down Main Street and hide behind some crates, we get a good daytime shot of kiln shed and boarding house. Heros escape scene and episode ends.
Notes:
-so there's a rear staircase just like on the front of the boarding house. In the previous scene we are inside a building but it's the main set they use dirtied up. I wonder if the door at the top of the stairs even opens. But it looks like they come out of somewhere one by one or atleast around the corner of the building.
-running down the steps. We know sets aren't built to last. Perhaps signs of better construction back then? The operations building did last 10+ years before it started to implode.
-there dosent seem to be a lot behind the set.
-cast runs down to end of perimeter fence and hide beside a large corrugated pipe. It's as high at the actors and seems to run down to the fence then bends to run along it for some distance,
-as main cast take fire they duck and weave amongst the pipes. There's a lot of smaller pipes and a lot more to the power plant itself.
-as villain takes cover behind a crate we can see the blazer in the background with the light pole still laying across it.
-now something very interesting happens here, the villain shoots and hits one of the large pipes that make up the rib cage and head out of the compound. When the smoke clears steam or smoke is billowing out of that pipe. Now of course it's not a real geothermal plant. But it's interesting the production team added this effect possibly as a call back to tlw? It could just as easily be a water treatment plant.
-we also get a few front shots of the operations building here in the daylight.
-it slow looks like a few smaller pipes also run out through fence that we didn't see in the film.
-as they run to the centre of Main Street we see more of the power plant. More pipes and one large one going up to a round tower and it's got heat shielding wrapped around it.
-again you can see that small roof leaning off side of kiln shed.
-we get to see a bit more of the boarding house and kiln shed in the daylight, there's a lot of that building missing. One large section of wall is missing on street side up on second level. Why did no light shine through that at night? Only the windows lit up.
-just before portal opens we get a look inside garage and rear roof is missing sections.
-as heros escape we get a quick better shot inside the garage. Two large rear windows that either have debris covering them or there's another room back there.
-as car arrives on set we get a quick look at the operations building steps. Greenery and debris still litter the area.
-as villains talk behind them there's a small wooden structure. It looks a lot like the one that was placed over st the plant area in front of the suburban. We didn't see a lot of it in the film as it was mostly hidden behind the car or just off screen in those scenes.
-and as we end out we get a good look back at the kiln shed and the power pole resting up against it.

-it might be a test shot, but it also shows the three main cast looking at the map before Roland says one more hour then we hit it. It’s a day shot!

-there’s still lighting rigs on set, and a satellite dish on the roof between kiln shed and bording house.

Gangland Filmed on set. So let’s deviate for a moment to discuss what we learnt from watching gangland.
-sadly only ops building filmed and the water fall beside set.
-although set is de dressed there’s still vines hanging from the roof.
-although mural removed “InGen We make your future” painted sign still visible above mural wall. Not seen in tlw.
-outlines on walls can be seen where lights were removed. In particular the emergency lights above the door to the small store room near the rear helipad door.
-we get a great close up look at the front egg doors.
-we go inside the base of the tower. A two story structure with windows and double doors. Possibly once the lab? There’s also evidence of climbing spike in the wooden tower pole much like a telephone pole. But they’ve been cut off,
-seems to be a open courtyard behind the mural wall and beside the tower base.
-and then there’s the miniature built and exploded.

-Interior walls removed from left section of operations building.
-I haven’t seen a single video of the tram tour going through village. I found three videos showing the village post filming with everything in place.
-also I’ve posted a video link in reference section of the universal Florida attraction for tlw featuring many probs including the hunters camp and triceratops puppet. Can only assume rv and mclass vehicles on display outside buildings.
-famous behind the scenes photos taken with man in black jacket in gas station, and sitting on concrete post in front of ops building.
Late 1997
-Sliders filmed on set. Everything in place and tram rd either removed or covered over in gravel for Sliders filming. Also a lot of extra props stored onsite including InGen crates and the trampled satilite dish.
Early 1998
-in a 1998 video fences were still in place, and rv was parked between ops building and garage. After Florida tour?
-trex cage also spotted onsite next to phsyco house as well as red stego cage.
Late 1998
-by end of 1998 fences were removed but main buildings remained up into 2000. Many InGen hunter vehicles remained on set.
-all but one section of fence removed. Gates gone to tlw area of tour.
Early 1999
-Gas station/garage removed along with large section of fence.
-InGen Hunter Jeeps still litter site.
Late 1999
-some sections of fence and front gates removed. Presumably moved to Tlw display near the movie car section of tour.
-trex cage still there
-gas pumps still onsite, possibly location of main switchboard and curcuit breakers for set.
Early 2000
-video claiming to be shot in 2000 shows set as it appears in late 99 videos. Unsure if this is true.
-most of Village there, fence behind gas station still there.
-how ever video found shot in jan 2000 and whoville set looks like it was just filmed on.
Mid 2000 Author confirmed to be March
-Kiln shed and boarding house removed as well as gas pumps/breaker box.
-whoville set built for how the grinch stole xmas. Ops building left untouched hidden behind set.
Late 2000
-whoville moved beside bates motel. (Seen in August video)
-by late 2000 the redress of the set was underway.
-Nothing else can be seen of the lab set. No car park or lights, no ruined vehicles. It looks identical three years later in a 2003 backlot tour.
-set extended to rear to accomodate vending machine hallway. To accomodate extension bottom half of stairs leading up to helipad was removed,
-by December tram tour stopped going up past bates motel, possibly filming jp3 at the time.
Early 2002
-set used to film “The Backlot Murders.” There isn’t as much here as Gangland, but let’s once again tangent.
-most of the scenes take place on the stairs of embryonics admin building.
-there’s a couple of interior shots showing the structure is completely empty.
-we can see two modifications from the original set. A added rear section housed the vending machine hallway and safety glass was used to replace the “storeroom” at the back corner of the building.
Early 2004
-production crews and Actors rv’s parked on the Backlot site for the cast of desperate housewives which was being filmed nearby.
Mid 2004
-plane wreckage brought onside and sets created for Spielbergs War Of the World’s.
-tram tour stopped pointing out the jp3 set location/use
2007
Crossing Jordan filmed thier season 6 finale on falls lake beside the Jurassic area.
-behind the scenes shots show the Embryonics admin building tucked away behind the plane crash.
-interestingly they prought another plane wreck in to film that episode.
-don’t have access to it on streaming so can’t watch.
2011
-music video filmed on the stairs of the Embryonics Admin Building. Copyright 2011.
-comes in at the 03:08 min mark. Roof above entrance already starting to collapse.
-Even though the roof has fallen down to almost completely cover entrance a light coloured barrier has been put in front of doors anyway to stop people entering. We don’t know but I can only imagine fans like us either getting off the tram tour or just walking out to the set and exploring it without universal approval.
-One interesting shot is a close up on the stairs leading to the building. We can clearly see the wire mesh frame and the chunks of plaster that were laid over it. Really makes me wonder if they consulted with anyone as to how strong stairs and ramp was to film on.
2012
-roof above lobby and rear “vending machine hallway” collapses.
-rear walls surrounding tower base fall down.
2016
-by now almost all the walls have collapsed inward. The tower still stands at the rear of the site.
-the top of the stairs, entrance door and most of the lobby area colapses into the pond below leaving a massive hole in the middle of the set
(-Id always through the support pilons and Floor were concrete but it seems it was all timber and plywood. It’s really surprising it lasted this long with all that weight ontop of it.)
2019
-The colapsed Embryonics Administration Building is removed from the pond it was built over and destroyed. Leaving the only sets used for filming in the franchise being the Indominus enclosure and gyroshpere station still standing in kouai ranch.
